A 2 full days of fun and meetings in the chalet!  Since now most of the things are in the finalising stage, I guess there will be somemore frequent meetings until everything’s done.  Will be doing our committee’s photoshoot on 18Oct with our sub committee so hopefully by then everything will be settled!

With the current trend of manicuring and pedicuring, I believe that for the sake of arts, or just for fun, it is fine to have black nails on guys thus I’ve made my step:

black pedicure

I’ve seen quite a few guys in Orchard with these anyway, And Im gona remove the manicure once school starts! As for the pedicure, I find it really cool and should keep it =). its just art and cool, imnotgay!

Superband SF 3

Superband SF 3

Im not a fan of TV anymore, nor a fan of ‘stars-to-be‘ kind of program but since my little princess has this desire to watch a live TV performance in a theatre, I decided to go with her today since we got ourselves the tickets last week by just buying $2 worth of mentos! (And guys do not eat anything related to milk or chocolate yet because it seems like nothing is safe in the world now!)

Tamron 70-300mm

Tamron 70-300mm

Went to Changi this morning to send my baby Tamron 70-300mm Zoom lens for servicing.  The technical department was telling me that the lens might have to make a trip to Japan and it will probably take 1month for it to come back again, so I was like ‘wtf’.  I just hope they fix the lens for me; else i’m like a crippled because I only have 3lens, if that spoils, I will only have 2 lens and these 2 lens are having similar range!

Then I was having some itchy hand, so I surfed around clubsnap and extended my to-buy list for photography again.  I’m looking for some lens, Tamron 18-270mm VC LD DI (which will be out around this month and estimated cost ard $800), or Tamron 18-250mm VC LD (at least with image stablising and this will be a very good walk around lens so that I don’t have to switch all the time!)  And having a 18-55mm lens is like really noob.  So if I manage to get the lens, Im selling this piece of junk away!

Sunny gave a ‘feel‘ on his Canon 24-70L lens yesterday and I was astonished; lost for words.  Whichever.  Yes I’m very amazed by the ‘as-fast-as-the-eye‘ focus, and the weight, the construction and the results, but Im not going into ‘L’ lens until I can commit more time/passion into photography.  Pretty much of shit school work that I can’t catch up enough and simply dont have the moolah to spend this way.

Ok, enough of the side tracks!

So I went to send my lens for service today, had a very wonderful lunch at hotpot culture in Marina Square and send my nokia 6500s for service at Suntec as well.  Thank god both items are in warranty period!

After which, we rushed back to SImei to get the van to go to Mediacorp to watch Superband SF3!  We were told to reach there by 6.45pm on the ticket and guess what?  The timing was a fake!  Many people still came in at 7.45pm and I’m rather disappointed having to reach there so early and do nothing.  Seeing the fans scream had motivated me to stay awake, and watching the performance are like ‘wow, its live! Im seeing it in theater and many people are watching on the screen only!’  The teams did perform their best but what decide them to continue staying in this competition sequel is not the judges; its the audience.  Thus alot of time, if a good band lacks of supporters who are willing to splurge on their handphone bills, it would have been out from the sequel!

Anyway Im totally glad that the band which I felt has performed good today got into the finals which is on 5 Oct and I hope Im going down again because

BEYOND WILL BE PERFORMING!

And I sure hope they’ll be singing cantonese song; probably their HITs since 1980s, hai kuo tian kong or guang hui sui yue!

I believe that you guys probably notice my hiatus in blogging recently; especially when I have some extra commitment now in school to work on.

One of the thing is that I would like to congratulate everyone that was nominated and got into Hall 5(my current hostel block)’s JCRC (Junior Common Room Committee).  3 cheeers for all of us and nice effort to stick together despite the forming of new constitution fail.  We’ll just make do with the old one, and hope the system can go along with us since there’s nothing we can really do!

Did up the publicity poster for the nominations (a small collage) and it was rather impromptu, so didn’t really design much (and im not into design!) I’m in the committee as a Publication Secretary (almost similar post to the previous ones I did in Poly), take photos during events, maintain website, design 5newsletter for this academic year and 1 hall magazine.  In the committee also meant that I have to join several events in order to gain recognition for both my work and passion for the Hall.  Thus I’m really busy!

And I wanted to sign up for a few other clubs as CCA, namely the Guitar Ensemble by CAC, photographic videographic society, Opensource society,  CEC (computer engineering club) but Im too packed by the JCRC.  Most likely will join only next year, that is IF I can prove that I can cope the workload in here.

Seriously, I thought university education was nothing but another level of gaining knowledge but Im totally wrong.  Here, it’s always about self learning and self sufficiency.  Must be disciplined and good time management and apparently I failed both because I can’t wake up on time in the morning, and I sleep in lectures and worse still, I have a quiz tomorrow and I revised for several days but seem to understand ANYTHING from the lecture notes, thus I went to buy the textbook hoping it will help.

Im looking forward to taking photos again; I miss photography, I miss guitaring, I miss her everyday but I have to be here still.

Studying < others.
Studying < JCRC < others.

Its really time consuming.  And I hate maths totally; I don’t know why Im studying statistics and probabilities and some ‘logical’ maths.  Its mental consuming as well in here.

I hope Im not going bonkers!

A condom lubricant designed for sex workers and gay men has become a popular acne cure among female Cambodians, women in the capital and local media said Thursday.

Number One Plus, a water-based lubricant produced by health organisation Population Services International (PSI), is an excellent cure for acne, 29-year-old vendor Tep Kemyoeurn told AFP.

“After I used it for three days, all of my acne dried up and went away,” she said. “Many people believe in it,” she added.

That’s pretty amazing huh? I can’t imagine sticking comdoms on my face. not even 1!

It was a breath taking thrill.  I know, most people would not have paid to view fireworks especially on a much ‘random’ slot but I took the step 2 months ago to book the SingaporeFlyer on this day to watch with my dearest Pinky.  Im just trying to create some romantic ambience on this day.  I did watched yesterday with Clarence (My roommate in NTU) and ofcourse it wasn’t as exciting as watching with her.  Today’s display was from Korea and it was much beautiful than yesterday’s from France.

Anyway I wasn’t in time to watch the fireworks in the Flyer capsule, so I was recommended by the kind usher who told me that I would miss the fireworks if I continue to que for the flyer.  I drag miss pinky out and was that close in time to watch the fireworks!  If I hadn’t move out, I would have missed it.  And I panicked not being able to setup my tripod in time.  Gees, I took 30secs - 1min to setup my tall tripod so yeah, I did miss out snapping the front.  Pinky was excited and without the hassle of setting up a tripod, she took out her phone and started recording it as video.

So here’s some of the snaps of the fireworks and after the display, we went onto the capsule and watch the city at night with a group of old folks:

It was a breath taking experience on taking the Singapore Flyer but yet on another hand, I feel that the money is not well spent on this kinda thrills.  The flyer was slow enough and there’s really nothing to be afraid about even when I am so afraid of heights!  The night view was boring other than seeing the city lights, there’s nothing much for me to really feel excited about.  Pinky told me that the sea view from the flyer is great but I could only see reflections of the sky-scraping crane lights.  It was too dark anyway to see other things, thus I indulge her in snapping photos.

If I were to sit in the Flyer again, I would choose to sit in the evening and enjoy the sunset.  Watch the colourful horizon.
